Developers HyperBeard bring us an adorable casual game that’s both kid-friendly and super engaging – Axolochi. Axolochi is all about raising pet creatures and somewhat similar to Neopets and the Talking Tom in certain aspects. This free to play casual game can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the iTunes store. It does have a lot of ads though and some in-app purchases but none that are necessary to play the game in its entirety.

The Review

Axolochis are cute sea creatures and you’ve just adopted one in this game. The concept isn’t something we haven’t seen before but there are tons of features that make it stand out and give it a 4.5 star plus rating on the Google Play Store alone. The ultimate goal in this game is probably a never-ending one. You have to raise an Axolochi from egg to adulthood and it’s not an easy task.

Although a casual game, Axolochi can actually be pretty addicting. The entire game takes place in the deep waters of Mexico where you help your new aquatic creature grow and nourish. All Axolochis begin as an egg that you can discover throughout the course of the game, hatch and raise. Axolochis come in all different shapes, sizes and colors as well so hatching an egg always comes with a new surprise.

Perhaps what people love most about this game is the art. There is no denying that Axolochi is one major eye candy and the adorable graphics can become a favorite for just about anyone. The animations are all 3D and smooth; the colors pop and are super vibrant; and the music is bubbly and perfect for the game as well.

Axolochis age quickly so even when you begin with an egg and a baby Axolochi, in no time you’ll be dealing with a teenage version of it. Throughout the course of this free to play casual game, you’ll need to feed your aquatic creatures, pet it, bathe it and even teach it important life skills. You’ll need to do this until the Axolochi is a fully developed adult. When your pet creature becomes an adult, it will be time for you to say goodbye to it and let it discover the mysteries or the world beyond on its own.

But that doesn’t mean the game ends there. You can always discover and find a new egg, hatch it, and begin the cycle all over again. As we said earlier, these pet aquatic creatures come in various colors, shapes and forms so every time you hatch an egg, you’re bound to have a completely new form of Axolochi. The list of Axoloxhi is florid and while the pink Axolochi is the standard and even the avatar for this casual game, there are other options like the purple or the ice-cream cone shaped one.

Apart from feeding, bathing and raising your Axolochi, you can also turn this casual game into something more fun. This app not only lets you raise these virtual pets but it also offers a bunch of mini games to play. We’ll admit that the list isn’t as extensive as we would have hoped but we expect the developers to add new mini games soon.

You can also unlock new and special Axolochi breeds and features through the in-app purchases.
