Word Cookies follows the classic anagram gameplay. You’re given a bunch of random letters all jumbled up. Your task is to arrange them into proper words. Guess all the words that can be made from the letters and you proceed to the next level. The words are scattered on a frying pan and the game follows the theme of cooking in a garden (we presume!).

The game begins almost immediately when you first download and run the app. The first few levels and elementary level and can be cleared rapidly. The difficulty level slowly builds up further down into the game when five to six letter words need to be made. Word Cookies features hundreds of levels. These levels are all divided into different chapters that can be accessed through the settings page. You can also go into the home page from the settings option and check out the different modes and challenges Word Cookies has to offer. These modes can only be unlocked after a certain number of basic levels have been cleared.

Players also get to play a free daily puzzle but this feature is only available once you’ve cleared a set number of levels. New levels are constantly updated and added in to the game so it’s a never-ending gameplay, in essence.

Word Cookies is a nice way to build up your vocabulary and enjoy your time at the same time. You can view all the words you’ve made and collected in the word collection page as well.

The graphics of this game are based on a delicious cooking theme in a forest environment adding to the calmness of the gameplay. What’s more, the music and sound effects are soothing to the ear as well. The music is reminiscent of Studio Ghibli like tunes with the same relaxing effect.

Word Cookies is a wonderful way to take a break from stress and spend time in a game that not only calms you but also results in a productive vocabulary building activity. Some users of this app have, however, complained that Word Cookies can get frustrating in the later levels. When you’re stuck on a certain level and can’t find a word, you’re literally just stuck there. There’s no option of skipping the level. You can get hints by spending your in-game currency though which can be earned through clearing previous levels, watching an advertisement video or purchasing them with real money.
