You can conquer different milestones in your life such as college, career or find a spouse, collect jobs and make babies. It’s a cute little game that hits close to home. You can also get a job raise, lose a job, pay taxes and have more and more children. All of it depends where you land on the board.

In The Game of Life app, the same storyline follows. You come alive as a kid that makes their way through three dimensional settings of lush green trees, skyscrapers and lagoons achieving the aforementioned life milestones in their in-game life. The main objective of the game is to collect as much money as you can and more than your opponent because after all – money is a pretty vital asset to lead a successful life even in a board-slash-app game.

Players choose different pathways like their college and careers. They also spin the wheel to land on game tiles where they get to make important life decisions or just get lucky (or unlucky!).

The Game of Life features different multiplayer gaming modes. The most basic mode is the one where you can play against the computer opponent. The second mode is where you can play against a face-to-face friend by a pass and play mechanism. The third and final mode allows you to either challenge your Facebook friends or challenge online strangers in the game. Do remember that in order to access the third mode, you’ll need to be older than 13 years.

When the game starts up for the first time, it will ask you of your age. If you’re older than 13, you’ll be asked to connect with your Facebook account so you can challenge other friends.

Even when you challenge complete strangers, The Game of Life facilitates only minimal conversation. The in-app chat feature only allows a limited pre-determined number of emoticons that players can use so the chat itself is pretty kid-friendly and benign. No personal information can be exchanged so it’s a safe to play even for young children.

The Game of Life has managed to amass great compliments and user feedback ever since it was released but it’s not all rainbows and butterflies. For starters, the gameplay of this app might be a little too fast-paced for our taste. Sometimes it just feels like you’re skipping through steps to clear the board as quickly as you can. There are also a few built-in mini games in The Game of Life but they don’t really make a great impression since most of them just involve mindless tapping and no strategy whatsoever.
