SBB is the complete travel companion in your pocket especially if you live in Europe. You can get complete details on delays, platform changes or any cancellations in train tickets in real time. All tickets that are purchased from SBB are done through the app’s special Switzerland paying service. These tickets are sometimes even cheaper than the actual rates on events like the Saver Day Pass and the supersaver features on SBB Mobile.

Timetable is the highlight feature of SBB Mobile. This touch-timetable lets you see connections from your current location accurately and efficiently. You can also check out local, national and international timetable queries through the SBB Mobile timetable feature. The app also updates you on occupation forecast and hosts a Take-Me-Home functionality as additional features.

Although new users might have a bit of trouble navigating around SBB Mobile, it’s actually a pretty well-developed app with a user-friendly UI. The app design is clean and simple with all the details you need to make your ticket purchase. The only thing that be seem overwhelming in the app is the variety of features and details. Once you get the hang of them though, SBB will be an easy app to use.

Currently SBB lets you purchase a myriad of tickets including regular tickets in Switzerland, tickets for regional fare networks, city to city tickets, supersaver and sale tickets, day passes, class upgrades, 9’o clock travel passes, nighttime supplements, travel passes for children, bike passes, travel passes for pets, seat reservations, bike reservations and special regional fare tickets.

Although these are a lot of different tickets SBB still does not support international ticket, Swiss travel cards, and extension tickets. However since the company is always expanding so we might see these important tickets available in the near future.

Other bonus features of SBB Mobile includes the Take-Me-Home function that can be accessed through the timetable. This feature utilizes your phone’s GPS to display the stops in the vicinity of your current location. You can also access the calendar built inside the app for clearer timetable and schedule planning.

SBB Mobile works with an active connection but there are things you can do on the app even when you’re offline. For example you can check your storage and list of stops, history and favorites even on offline mode. There is another mode called the deactivate standby mode which keeps your phone screen from turning off before you receive a push notification. The phone also vibrates when the push notification comes on but you can turn this option off if you please.
