The McDonald’s application is a full package to get to know more about and order from your favorite fast food chain. The app has a simple, intuitive design which makes it pretty simple to navigate and start using immediately. When you first download and open this free app, it will run you through a two-step welcome after asking which country you belong to and your regional language. This short welcome-slash tutorial will also ask for your location permissions so can use all the features of this app.

Once you’re successfully inside the homepage, you can move in two directions. Either you can register and create a free account to avail the offers available on the app or you could continue using it without making an account. Bear in mind that in the latter case you will only be able to view the offers and not actually avail them.

The homepage features the best deal in your regional McDonald’s at the moment and if you choose to avail it (after signing up) you will be directed to placing an order to the restaurant chain through a phone call. Unlike food app services like Uber Eats or Food Panda, you can’t actually place an order through the app. Instead, you will be directed to download the McDelivery app of your country through which you can place orders through making a phone call directly to the local fast food chain.

Apart from the list of offers, the home page of the app also contains a number of other interesting features to make using this app more immersive. There’s a built-in restaurant store locator in the app that you can access either through the main home page or through the menu tab. This store locator is paired with the Google Maps service and allows you to locate all the McDonald’s restaurants in your vicinity. If you’re not someone that likes reading maps, you could also use the handy list feature in the store locator page where all the nearby outlets are listed. Back to the homepage and you’ll notice options to leave a feedback for the app and the restaurant itself, and book kitchen tours. When you click these features you will be directed to the browser page of McDonald’s website where you can leave your reviews or book a kitchen tour at the McDonald’s outlet near you.

Apart from the main homepage tab which arguably has the bulk of the features the app offers, there’s also a sliding menu to the left with the same feature plus one that has the full menu. This ‘Food’ feature will also redirect you to the menu page of the McDonald’s browser app and give you an in-depth look into all of the foods they offer – from burger to shakes to desserts.

The McDonald’s app (as a stand-alone app) doesn’t do much except give you a look into their offers. It’s more or less an informational app and there’s little you can actually do in it. Since you can’t even place orders on the app and have to download a separate McDelivery app for it, this one seems more or less unnecessary. Despite this, it’s a good place to get to know more about your favorite fast food chain anfd the new updates and offers it is serving.
