The Review

Players are instantly thrown into the magical world of Legacy of Discord by choosing one of the three basic classes of heroes: a Berserker, a Blade Dancer and a Sorceress – each with their own superpowers and skills. Then, dive into the gist of the game: fast paced Player vs. Player (PvP) combat and a massive online multiplayer world. Players can also join guilds with other players of Legacy of Discord and they can chat with them through the chat feature.

The plot of the game is pretty polished if not extensive. The Celestial City is under attack by demonic foes and it’s up to the Guardians to defend and protect their territory. The main story mode pits you against computer enemies and helps your heroes to grow stronger as you win more and more battles. The variety of upgrades and leveling up of your skills also make your characters a force to be reckoned with. You can further evolve your heroes with Wraithwings and unlock stat boosts to make your characters grow. Plus you can enhance your weaponry, refine them or even fuse them to create a new more destructive weapon.

Now this should technically make the game more boring and easier to play but as you progress your enemies also grow more powerful so a lot of time has to be invested in this game to really make it further in.

Besides the main plot, there are other modes the game offers which in our opinion might be even better than the actual story mode. Take for example the Plunder mode. In this multiplayer online arena, players scout for treasure chests and power ups that are upgraded at least three times a day. You will have to however fight your way against your competitors to unlock these treasure chests as they do take time to unlock.

The Plunder mode isn’t only about collecting gold, mind you. As time passes in this vast multiplayer arena, players will be forced to rage battles against three powerful bosses where the rewards go to the player that makes the final hit.

Another mode worth mentioning is the Icefire Field. In this mode, players work in teams of five that may or may not be from the same guild. Teams will battle against each other in combat to destroy their enemy’s Divine Crystal.

The game also teams up with the acclaimed Assassin’s Creed series and borrows the popular Aveline de Grandpe as one of the characters players can unlock and train. Fans of the Assassin’s Creed series will find this cross-over exhilarating.

Legacy of Discord, as epic as its storyline, does justice to the graphics as well. The UI and design of the game is definitely praise-worthy. Another great aspect of the game is the fact that it’s completely free to play. However, as with most other games, there are optional in-app purchases that you can make to make characters stronger and your battles more in your favor. However – they are not necessary.

The one area that we found rather lacking is the translation feature in the app. Although the chat automatically translates conversations into your set language, the translation can be incomprehensive and clumsy.
