Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas description

It’s a journey back into the year 2004 with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The overwhelmingly popular game series is now back in an all new re-mastered version and it’s better than ever. Rockstar Games has kept the story and even the graphics to a certain extent as the original console game one but it’s still a treat for fans of GTA to have such an elaborate edition on their smartphones. There’s a catch though – you’ll have to purchase it.

The Review

The story of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas follows a familiar protagonist Carl Johnson who was forced to flee his hometown Los Santos, San Andreas five years ago. The mob mafia and the gang trouble were not the best for our protagonist but now he has to come back to where it all began. Now, Carl Johnson’s mother has been murdered and he has to uncover the perpetrator in San Andreas. The city hasn’t changed a bit in five years and Carl Johnson finds himself once again in the jaws of gang trouble, drugs and crimes.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is essentially an Action game but incorporates some major elements of RPG. There’s a vast world to explore within the game including three big cities of Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas. Players get to navigate their character across the map, drive motorbikes and car and kill. The controls can be utilized through the virtual analog stick in the lower left corner of the screen in the game. This virtual analog controller has digital buttons much like a proper console joystick.

The buttons can be resized and placed anywhere on the screen as well wherever the player feels more comfortable. There are also special controls to accelerate the car or bike, or pull the brakes. Combat controls when on foot are also separate.

Despite the variety of controls, players constantly complain of them being jittery and unstable. Driving a bike is just not the same in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as it was in the console games. Still though, the quality of the game is pretty good and fans of the GTA series will still stay hooked to their phone screens throughout the game.

The developers have amplified the graphics of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to a certain extent but they have also tried hard to retain some of the originality. It still gives us the same 2004 feel. What’s changed is the more higher resolution, enhanced lighting and more vivid colors and contrast.

There are also tons of new features added into the gameplay to keep the player’s interest. There’s a cloud save support which can be used to save your progress in the game and access the same game progress on any device you log into. There are also three different control schemes, compatibility with the MoGa Wireless Game Controllers and integrated immersion tactile effects. The total hours of gameplay of the plot of this game is around 70 hours which is pretty extensive for a mobile game.

Grand Theft Auto: Sand Andreas is not a game for children. As with other games in the series, this is the type of game that is made for adult. The mature content of sex, violence and consumerism run high throughout the storyline so the game is officially rated for people above 18 years of age.

What can be improved in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas?

  • Some controls like riding a bike can be unstable and jittery
