Google Photos offers massive unlimited storage that is totally free so that you can delete original photos from your phone and free up space but still be able to use the photos uploaded in your Google Photos account. The account can be accessed from any device and it is completely private and secure unless you choose to share a particular item yourself with your friends.

Not every photo needs to be backed up though. If you don’t want photos to be backed up automatically, you can always turn off the automatic option. Similarly, you can choose to backup only on WiFi and not on mobile data.

The app offers an intuitive UI design which makes it fun and easy to use. Users can rapidly scout for the image or video they’re looking for by an intelligent visual search system. This means that the app can detect and memorize faces of people, places and things and help you filter through thousands of pictures easily without tagging.

The photo gallery on Google Photos is much more than a simple storing space. On the app you can also build slideshows, albums, collages, movies, animations and panoramas by putting together your favorite photos and videos together. Furthermore, you can also throw in a filter of your choosing from a list of 14 different photo filters. These filters, however, might not be amazing and will hardly come to use.

Google Photos has a mind of its own – not only does it support visual searches but it can also sort our albums automatically. The app will suggest a particular album and choose photos for it from your gallery smartly. Google Photos also reminds you of nostalgic memories by bringing up albums and pictures from a year or two ago. This ‘rediscover’ memories option is unique and great to experience memories from your past again.
