All escape room games have a common theme and people who love this genre are seasoned at finding clues to escape. This of course requires a certain amount of intelligence, common sense and puzzle-solving. Escape Dream Bathroom is a similar escape room game where your prime goal is to find a key to the bathroom you’re locked in. It’s a free to download and play application and it’s available for both Android and iOS users.

The Review

The story of Escape Dream Bathroom is pretty straightforward and the game does a great job in the form of a short dialogue-based cut scene to articulate that. Someone has locked you in a bathroom that conveniently has tons of clues and even a key to the door that you’re set to find. Escape Dream Bathroom is ridiculously elaborate in terms of puzzle design but silly in other aspects as well. For example, at one point of the game, you recover a hammer that you could use to escape but apparently you want to keep things non-destructive and use the actual key itself.

Spoiler alert – the key is in a box that is coded with different shapes and in order to open the box, you’ll need to find all the shapes and fit them in. Through the course of the game you also collect a bunch of rubber ducklings that eventually lead you to solving the mystery. In fact, the very first hint you should proceed with is by investigating the bathtub and adding the floating ducking to your collection.

Speaking of which, you can collect items in this tiny bathroom as you progress through the game and these items line up on the top of your screen. You can also use these items in the right places as you move along the course of the game. Some puzzles in Escape Dream Bathroom are fairly obvious and don’t need a lot of brainstorming; others might require you to use a clue or a hint. There’s an option for hint on the very top of the screen that will guide you through the puzzles. Thankfully this game offers no in-app purchases so the hints are absolutely free. There are a lot of adverts in the game though!

The graphics of Escape Dream Bathroom are pretty well-developed and three dimensional. There’s not a lot of background music or sound to comment on but the game does offer smooth working graphics.

Escape Dream Bathroom has puzzles that can test your math, memory but most importantly your riddle-solving abilities. Some puzzles are completely random and you’ll have to look through every direction to actually find the answer (yes that means searching around the toilet seat as well!). For people who enjoy a good brain game, Escape Dream Bathroom will be a pleasant adventure.

Once you clear the game, find the key and open the bathroom, there’s nothing much you can do except replay the entire thing again. We’re pretty sure nobody wants to do that. Therefore, Escape Dream Bathroom like every other escape room game is short but fun. After clearing the game, you can also see a report of how many times you tapped in the game, how many hints you took and the time you took to clear the entire game. Although a game with excellent potential and tons of enjoyable puzzles, we’re not really sure why some users complain of receiving notification pop-ups and viruses from it. Some users have also contested the need for letting the app access your phone gallery which is obviously not needed.
