Dr. Parking 4 is the fourth edition in the Dr. Parking game series that hopes to teach you the ins and outs of correct parking through an engaging game. While we’re not sure how much it meets its goal and if it really helps you perfect your parking technique in real life but one thing’s for sure – it makes a commendable effort and it keeps you engaged in the game. Dr. Parking 4 is a free to download and play game with some in-app purchases you can make to unlock new perks. The size of the game is pretty small so it won’t take up a lot of space on your phone. This highly popular parking game is available to download from both the Google Play Store and the iTunes store.

The Review

To play Dr. Parking 4 you’ll need to connect with your Google Play account first. Once you’re connected, you’re instantly ported to the main menu of the app where you can start the main campaign modes, practice, view your cars and visit the in-app shops. It’s a good idea to begin with the practice mode although it’s not an absolute requirement nor does the app tell you to start with it. In the practice mode, players get to know how the game and its controls work and what you’re supposed to do in each level.

The practice mode starts off easy with you driving to a designated yellow box between cars to park. The controls are fairly smooth as well but they can tend to get out of hand. In Dr. Parking 4, you control an automatic car with a steering wheel that you can rotate, accelerator and brake options, as well as the hand brake options on the top right of the screen. Passing the first level of the practice mode is a walk in the park and is just so that you can get accustomed to the controls. In order to keep the car from moving you’ll always have to keep one finger on the brake even when you’re steering the wheel and not accelerating. This makes Dr. Parking a very multi-tasking game where you have to make sure all your movements are precise and your angles are accurate.

The first level is pretty easy but the second one (and thereafter) rapidly grow in difficulty. Soon you’re required to parallel park, park between two cars, reverse-park, reverse parallel park and much more. The game gives you a warning yellow sign every time you’re too close to another car or object like a wall. The moment you collide or hit anything in your path, it’s game over and you fail the mission.

Once you have mastered the practice mode, you can begin playing the actual game which is distributed in several levels. You can also play in real-time online multiplayer mode which is pretty fun as well. Apart from the main racing and park levels, there’s a lot more to discover and explore on the main homepage of the app. You can unlock new achievements including new cars, update your ranking in the game through clearing more and more levels and visit the shop to make in-app purchases. In-app purchases help you quickly unlock bigger and better cars with better features but none of these in-app purchases are absolutely necessary to make it further into the game.

All good things aside, Dr. Parking 4 does have a lot of ads which tend to pop up after every other level you clear.
